Mental Health Counselor
Project Access Foundation is seeking candidates for a Mental Health Counselor to join our team. In this position, you will assist our clients by providing screening, assessment, counseling, and education to individuals struggling with issues of substance abuse, and/or other mental health disorders.
The Mental Health Counselor Duties and Responsibilities include helping to diagnose clients, developing treatment plans to address specific mental disorders, meet with clients on a regular schedule, track clients progress and adjust as needed.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with diverse populations, experience working with persons living or affected with HIV, and be bi-lingual (Spanish/English and/or Haitian-Creole/English).
This position requires a Master’s Degree in counseling, social work, clinical psychology, sociology, behavioral science, marriage and family therapy or related field with some counseling experience, or; Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with at least five (5) years of full-time, paid experience in counseling, familiarity working with substance abuse population. Proof of all certifications is required at time of application.
